Beyond the salary, MPs were also informed that they will receive several non-taxable facilitation allowances. The largest is constituency facilitation totalling sh23.53m every month. MPs will also receive a town running facilitation allowance of sh2.43m per month to cover movements within Kampala and a 50km radius around the capital, and added together, these payments amount to sh43.64m per month. This is before mileage payments, committee leadership honoraria and other benefits are factored in.
