Mother of slain child collapses in Soroti court after photo display

SOROTI - The mother of the slain five-year-old, Joan Faith Apio, collapsed on Thursday afternoon in the High Court in Soroti after graphic photographs of her daughter's body were presented as evidence during a hearing on July 30th.

Ekebu, who took the photographs during the post-mortem examination at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, presented the images before court. The emotional evidence left many people in the packed courtroom in tears.

As the mood turned tense, Justice Boniface Wamala adjourned the hearing for one hour to allow the mother to recover before the defence could begin cross-examining the witness.
