KAMPALA - About a week ago, the internet in Uganda was awash with photos of musician Douglas Mayanja’s wife, who appeared to have been battered to a pulp by Weasel.
However, shortly, she came out and refuted the claims of Weasel beating her as was alleged by internet users.
In retaliation, she said Weasel did not beat her, but she was attacked by thugs who beat her up and made off with some of her belongings.
However, it has been established that indeed, Weasel battered his wife. On that note, Oliver Nakakande, who has been nominated as a representative for Uganda at the Miss Grand International pageant, has promised to use her position to fight against vice, especially among public figures.
She made the statement at the unveiling of the event, “We need to use our voices to stop these cruel acts by public figures because they do these things and nobody does anything about them,” said Nakakande.
The pageant is to be held on October 25th, 2022 at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor Regency.
Nakakande also promised to use her platform (Miss Grand International) once she wins, to advocate for good health and better education services for Ugandans.
