Over 18 markets have been battling for honours in the tournament that kicked off on August 26, 2022, where the winner will be rewarded with a bus in men’s soccer, courtesy of President Yoweri Museveni.

State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwang is among the dignitaries that have graced the Sevo Cup finals between St. Balikuddembe market alias Owino and Bugoloobi market today at Phillip Omondi Stadium.

Over 18 markets have been battling for honours in the tournament that kicked off on August 26, 2022, where the winner will be rewarded with a bus in men’s soccer, courtesy of President Yoweri Museveni.

On the side of the women, Owino Market defeated Usafi market with 36-29 goals to win the minibus prize. 

The women’s finals were played at Lugogo MTN Arena. 

 

Other bigwigs in attendance included Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, Team Chairman Michael Nuwagira commonly known as Toyota, Bukanga South legislator Stephen Kangwagye, and Kampala Central Division Mayor-Salim Uhuru, among others.

The tournament chairperson Susan Kushaba who doubles as Owino market chairperson hailed president Museveni for standing with them since the inception of the idea that intends to promote sports and other talents among the youths from different markets of Kampala.

“I also want to thank Brig. Gen. Chris Ddamulira for offering us the trophies that will be given to the winning teams,” Kushaba added.
