As dusk settled over the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine on Sunday, a profound sense of devotion swept through the sacred grounds.

Pilgrims from all corners of Uganda and neighbouring countries gathered in their thousands to honour the Uganda Martyrs, their voices rising in unified praise and worship.

In scenes of moving spiritual intensity, many sang hymns and chanted with deep reverence.

Around the Basilica, a number of faithful knelt in silent prayer before various grottos, seeking the intercession of the martyrs.

The strength of their faith was unmistakable. For some, prayer became so intense that tears streamed down their faces, capturing the emotional and spiritual gravity of the moment.

Martyrs' Day celebrations will be held on June 3, 2025.
