In recognition of their outstanding performance and support, Makerere University Convocation has awarded the university's top officials.

Among those awarded is Makerere chancellor Prof. Ezra Suruma, vice chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, university council chairperson Lorna Magara and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Principal Waswa Balunywa.

The university convocation chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi, who read out the names, said Nawangwe was recognised for his outstanding achievement and support to all MAK convocation causes during his tenure as the vice-chancellor.

"We recognise your tireless efforts for making Makerere peaceful for all learners," Tanga said.

Balunywa was awarded for his tireless contribution to MUBS, while Suruma was awarded for his patriotism and support to MAK and Makerere convocation as chancellor and patron.

The top officials were awarded during the fourth day of the 73rd graduation ceremony held at the university's main campus on Thursday.

Graduands from MUBS received degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.
