OYAM - Police are holding two suspects as investigations continue into the murder of a 50-year-old driver whose body was found outside a bar along the Kamdini–Gulu highway.
The deceased, Majid Bonny Ramathan, a resident of Adjumani district, was discovered with a deep stab wound to the chest at Nairobi bar and Hotel in Kamdini town council in the early hours of December 15.
North Kyoga regional police spokesperson Patrick Okema said the murder followed a disappearance report filed earlier the same day, prompting a search that led to the discovery of the body at around midnight.
A bar attendant, Esther Arebo, told the Police that the deceased was attacked by her former boyfriend, Denis Abila alias Bonny Adupa, a boda boda rider from the same area.
The suspect was later arrested.
Police visited and documented the crime scene, recorded statements from witnesses, and conveyed the body to Anyeke Health Centre IV for postmortem examination.
Investigators are now working to establish the exact motive behind the stabbing, as they await postmortem findings and additional witness statements.
