Dr. Patti Hill, the immediate past international president and the chairperson of Lion Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has pledged more support to the Lions projects in Uganda.

Hill remarked during a dinner organised by the Lions at Hotel Africana in Kampala on Saturday (January 8, 2025) to celebrate the contribution of the Lions in supporting the transformation of communities and also fundraising for the LCIF.

"You keep doing these amazing service projects, and you keep applying for grants, and I'm here to thank you. I will thank you for applying for the grants," she said.

Hill added; "We want to help you expand that work, and then we want to bring partners, into what you are already committed to. You are already committed to addressing hunger, already committed to ending childhood cancer, visual health (eye care) challenges and environmental interactions and diabetes fight."

Hill on her second day of the four-day visit to Uganda started on Friday (February 7, 2025), has since visited St. Francis Hospital Nsambya where she opened a Comprehensive Eye Care Centre financed by the Lions and equipped by the Latter-Day Saint Charities.

She also visited Ntinda School of the Deaf to officiate at the commissioning of the Lions project shortly after gracing the diabetes and other diseases screening and treatment health camp at Kireka Market in Wakiso district.

"Within that space, you can change lives. You can save lives. You can educate people about health and nutrition. You can make them aware of their own needs. You can inspire them to get up and do some aerobics, and not always, to be sedentary," Hills said.

Hill accompanied by her husband, Greg Holmes on Friday (February 7, 2025) officially kicked- off her four-day tour of Uganda.

The Lions governor Dist411B, Benon Katate disclosed that they are implementing projects worth $3m (about sh11b) financed by LCIF in Uganda, adding that the over 2000 Lions in Uganda have contributed over $60000 (about sh220m) to LCIF out of the project $100000 (about sh 367m) this year.
