Kyabazinga woos agro-processing, logistics investors in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI - The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, has called for strategic investments and technology partnerships to accelerate agricultural value addition and modernise logistics infrastructure in the Busoga sub-region.
Nadiope made the call on September 28, 2026, during a visit to 5PL Logistics Solutions facilities in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he held talks with the company’s chairman, Dr Mohammed Ali Al Hosani, and senior management on potential cooperation and investment opportunities in Busoga.
The Kyabazinga said Busoga’s agricultural potential could be better harnessed by shifting from reliance on raw commodity production to agricultural processing, modern post-harvest handling and more efficient links to markets.

The visit was aimed at attracting strategic development partners to Busoga and Uganda and was conducted alongside Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, Zaake Wanume Kibedi, senior diplomats and kingdom officials.
During the tour, 5PL Logistics Solutions chairman Dr Mohammed Ali Al Hosani and his executive team took the Ugandan delegation through the firm’s integrated operations, including warehousing, cold-chain preservation, inventory tracking, cargo handling and regional supply chain management systems.

He said establishing a comprehensive logistics hub incorporating agro-processing, cold storage and modern packaging could help bridge gaps between local rural producers and high-value international markets.
The two sides agreed to establish a joint technical framework to conduct feasibility assessments and identify immediate investment opportunities in the kingdom.

Reaffirming the diplomatic mission’s support, Ambassador Kibedi pledged to facilitate the engagements to help turn the discussions into concrete investment projects.
“The embassy remains committed to guiding follow-up consultations between 5PL Logistics, Busoga Kingdom, and line government agencies in Kampala to translate these strategic talks into tangible commercial projects,” Kibedi stated.
The outreach highlights efforts to strengthen links between UAE-based companies and Ugandan institutions in agricultural value-chain development, with a focus on reducing post-harvest losses and expanding market access for Ugandan produce.
