KCCA Leopards beat newly promoted YMCA Lady Hamsters 110-43 in the Women’s National Basketball League to stretch their unbeaten record to five wins in a row on Friday.

The massive win for the Leopards came on the back of a 60-44 comfortable win against last season’s runners-up KIU Rangers.

The Leopards' shooting guard Margaret Bagaala registered a record 40 points, six rebounds and three assists, teammate Faridah Kadondi added 15 points,15 rebounds and three assists and Asinah Kabendela contributed 14 points and seven rebounds in their winning effort.

The Hamsters Joy Auma was the only player who fired a double-double with 10 points and four rebounds while Shibila Lumanyika added nine points and Abigail Mpoza contributed seven points and 2 rebounds

This was YMCA’s second loss in three games having registered back-to-back victories against Kampala University (77-37) and Nabisunsa (80-42) despite a 50-91 reverse against UCU Lady Canons.

Both YMCA and KCCA came into this one unbeaten but the Leopards emerged on top after four quarters as the Hamsters failed to keep the former champions quiet.

It is also worth noting that the Leopards missed the services of their ever-green guard Perus Nyamwenge and coach Roger Sserunyigo who were out of the country on national duty while Angela Namirimu and Maureen Amoding missed out due to injuries.

In the men's category, KCCA Panthers grabbed a 73-56 win over Our Saviour before the Namuwongo Blazers defeated Kampala Rockets 89-67.
