Kaziimba releases Diocese of Kampala golden jubilee programme

The ceremony will take place at the newly constructed All Saints’ Cathedral, Kampala, on August 21 (2022) starting at 10:00am.

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has released the programme for the grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Diocese of Kampala.

The ceremony will take place at the newly constructed All Saints’ Cathedral, Kampala, on August 21 (2022) starting at 10:00am.

But prior to the climax of the celebration, there will be a number of activities, which have been organized purposely to help Christians and all Ugandans to participate in the celebration in a more beneficial way.

Archbishop Kaziimba announced the respective activities during a press briefing at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala on Thursday.

The activities include a medical camp at St. Paul’s Church, Kiwuliriza (in Namuwongo) on Sunday (August 7 (2022), 8:00am), a jubilee Gospel March at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala on August 13, a mission out-reach to Katanga Community (Wandegeya) on August 18 (2022) and the Archbishop’s Jubilee Slum Transformation Charity Walk at St. Stephen’s Church of Uganda, Kisugu on August 20 (2022), 7:30am).

There will also be other activities, such as the children’s jubilee celebration (at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala) on August 13 (2022) and the Youth Leaders’ Summit on August 20 (2022).

A grand business exhibition (aimed at promoting innovations and self-sustainability among believers) will also take place at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala from Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21 (2022).

Kaziimba said the main celebration (on August 21, 2022) will start with a thanksgiving service at 10:00am.

“The celebration will be both physical and virtual. We have invited the Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira as our Guest Preacher.  We have also invited President Yoweri Museveni as our Chief Guest. On that day we shall be unveiling our Golden Jubilee Memorial Project. The theme of our jubilee celebration is: Ebenezer: His Mission – Our Priority (1 Samuel 7: 12),” said Kaziimba.
