ALERT

Hajji Nsereko Mutumba, who was recently appointed the resident district commissioner (RDC) of Kayunga district in central Uganda, has died, according to Wednesday morning reports.

Before his appointment as RDC in March 2022, Mutumba was the spokesperson of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC).

His daughter has been quoted by local media as saying that Mutumba slept okay Tuesday night at his home in Kinaawa in Kyengera, only to wake up Wednesday complaining of stomach complications.

She said he was then rushed to hospital, from where he breathed his last.
