“We have the biggest number of premature babies in the country. "We usually have 80 premature babies per day; on a light day, we get 60 babies,” Dr. Nyanzi said. 

On average, 70 to 80 premature babies are born and admitted to the neonatal intensive unit at the Kawempe National Referral Hospital, according to Dr Mary Nyanzi, the head of pediatrics at Kawempe.
