Molly Katanga, the widow of slain businessman Henry Katanga, has been charged with the murder of her husband and remanded to Luzira Prison.
On Wednesday, Molly appeared before Nakawa Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza who read out the charge of murder to her.
The 53-year-old Molly appeared in court aboard a Police ambulance and was briefly kept in the court holding cells before she was produced in court.
Molly has been hospitalised at the International Hospital in Kampala (IHK) where she was admitted on November 2, 2023, after the incident.
Her appearance in court followed the issuance of an arrest warrant against her on Monday.
She was not allowed to plead to the charges and was consequently committed to the High Court for trial after chief state attorney Jonathan Muwaganya told court that investigations into the matter were complete.
Prosecution alleges that with malice aforethought, Molly caused the death of Henry Katanga on November 2, 2023, at their residence at Mbuya Chwa II Road in Nakawa division in Kampala
Katanga, a renowned city moneylender, allegedly succumbed to a gunshot wound he sustained on the left side of his head after a verbal exchange with Molly.
