Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) opened the Kampala Flyover pedestrian footbridge on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, at the Clock Tower section.
The Kampala Flyover was started as a result of the rapidly increasing traffic demand within Kampala City with an overall objective of improving traffic flow within the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA) by decongesting the Central Business District (CBD) of Kampala through the construction of flyovers, underpass, pedestrian bridges, road upgrading and improvement of junctions.
Allan Sempebwa, UNRA communications officer said the project is the first of its kind in Kampala and will provide convenience and safety to travellers.
