The two students of Midland High School in Kaberamaido district, who perished in a fatal motor crash on Thursday last week, have been laid to rest.

The burials of Susan Alwedo on Monday and Peter Eringu on Sunday attracted hundreds.

The vicar of Legio Maria of African Church Mission, Fr Grigory Augustine Owino from Kyoga Diocese asked all mourners to accept that death had occurred and will always continue to occur.

He consoled both families and people to stay strong amid the difficult moment.

"May you take courage and the entire students of Midland High, do not lose hope," he said, adding that the loss of the children is not the end and, therefore, people should keep hope alive.

Meanwhile, Ochero LC3 chairperson Charles Ojuku said the bus owners be followed and if it was insured, the families should be supported.

Kaberamaido district secretary for education Damali Ajibo called upon the parents to take heart during the loss of such students.

The district councillor representing Ochero, David Ababa, appealed to the school to continue supporting the two families by sponsoring other children in celebrating the lives of the fallen students.

Kaberamaido acting district education officer Richard Elyebu said amidst the difficult moment, education still remains important and giving up should not be a solution in life.
