“There were forgeries. Someone would forge that he or she got an A or credit 6 in a subject like mathematics to get a job. They were accorded a fair hearing before the axe fell on them in line with Sections 65 and 66 of the Employment Act, 2006. When they went through the disciplinary hearing, we dismissed them. On top of that, we withheld their terminal benefits. Because to us, much as they had worked for all those years, they had worked based on forgery,” Lumonya explained.

The committee, which was presided over by the chairperson, Mwine Mpaka of Mbarara South, ordered CAA to present qualifications of all their top management staff by for further consideration.
