On Tuesday (March 19), President Yoweri Museveni made an appearance in Dokolo district in Uganda's north to drum up support for his party's (NRM) flagbearer for the Dokolo district Woman parliamentary byelection, two days ahead of polling day (March 21).
The seat fell vacant on January 18 this year after the death of veteran politician Cecilia Atim Ogwal.
Janet Rose Elau Okello Adongo is the NRM candidate in a seven-strong race.
Her challengers are Sarah Aguti (UPC), Harriet Ageno (NUP), Rosemary Ogwal Alwoc (FDC), and independent candidates Esther-Obot Akullo, Rebecca Arao, and Grace Hanna Lalam.
