How former UPDF deputy chief Gen. Elwelu was arrested

Elwelu, who had been on the army’s wanted list, was arrested at about 5:00pm at his office in senior quarters, western division, Soroti city. A security operative who participated in the operation said Elwelu was found working on his laptop when the security officers arrived. He reportedly welcomed them into his office calmly. “He was not in uniform and was in a jovial mood, as is his nature,” the operative said on condition of anonymity.

Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu, who was arrested on Monday evening in Soroti, was transferred to Kampala on November 3rd.
