How citizens were scammed in Hut8 Scheme

The New Vision has learnt that on August 12 August, at around 9:00pm, HUT8, an online cryptocurrency mining firm without a record of company registration in Uganda as per Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) records, went dark. It closed out several investors after days of tension, including threats to either deposit and invest or risk having their accounts deleted.

Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke on August 14th said police had yet to formally receive a complaint even though they were aware there were people complaining on social media.
