Here is what President Museveni, Teso leaders discussed over Gen. Elwelu

President Museveni also told the cultural leaders that he was following the Elwelu matter, adding that he had instructed security agencies to handle it expeditiously. He also assured the delegation that Elwelu was safe and would not be harmed. “I have instructed security to handle the matter with swiftness. I promise that all will be handled. Elwelu is safe, and no one will harm him,” the President said.

During the meeting, sources said, the cultural leaders appealed to the President to intervene in the matter, expressing concern that Elwelu’s arrest had generated tension among sections of Teso and wider Ateker communities.
