Gen. Birungi, co-arrested military officers grilled over Kaweesi, Katumba shootings
Sources revealed that interrogators also questioned the suspects over attacks on works minister Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, former Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi and Maj. Muhammad Kiggundu. Gen. Katumba survived an attack with gunshot wounds, but the assailants killed his daughter, Brenda Nantongo.
Birungi (Pictured) was arrested after appearing before the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. Samuel Okiding, who heads a high-level inquiry established by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
