Holders St Lawrence BSC and Mutoola BSC increased their chance of qualifying for this season's FUFA Beach Soccer League playoffs when they stretched their leads at the top of the league on Sunday at the FUFA technical center in Njeru.

A hattrick from Brian Nkuubi, a brace each from Ronald Magwali, Joshua Lubwama, and Jonathan Kikonyogo as well as one goal from Emmanuel Waswa and Allan Katwe helped St Lawrence BSC beat 11-1 Buganda Royal Institute.

The biggest winners were the leaders Mutoola BSC who got themselves two wins on the trot.

Farouk Kiberu, Simon Kijjo, and Paul Nsenge netted as Mutoola BSC thumped Wolves BSC 3-0.

Thereafter, a hattrick from Sharif Apuuli and a brace from Simon Kijjo gave Mutoola BSC a 5-1 win over Kiringente BSC, a result that saw them continue to show their title credentials with 35 points from 13 league matches.

St Lawrence BSC is second with 31 points following their 11-1 victory.

Meanwhile, crowd favourites Jinja Lions BSC continued to fluff following their 3-3 draw against MS Sand Lions BSC.

The Jinja-based side has now gone three matches without a win something that has raised eyebrows.

"We have so many injured players and that has affected our performance lately. Hopefully, when they return, we can return to the best form that we are capable of having. But we must do it earlier to avoid missing out on play-off spots," warned Jinja Lions BSC head coach Ivan Kulika after seeing his team drop into the fourth spot with 23 points.

MS Sand Lions BSC leapfrogged the Jinja side into the third spot with 25 points after a 5-3 win over Kiringente BSC and a 3-3 against Jinja Lions BSC.
