Four security operatives arrested over alleged sh5b gold theft

Reports indicate that Uganda has seen a surge in gold scams, often targeting foreign investors. The scams involve individuals with alleged security and political connections, as well as outright fake gold dealers.

A source claimed that the officers stole gold from the people they arrested.

KAMPALA - At least four security operatives are in custody over the alleged theft of gold worth $1,300,000 (about sh5b). 

The suspects include Superintendent of Police James Besigye, Corporal
