Okee, a veteran motor sports and real estate administrator, said he has been serving not only Gen. Saleh but also Uganda, guided by the ideals of Pan-Africanism.
Okee is also the young brother of justice minister Nobert Mao.
“This is another calling to serve my country even better,” he said.
In a congratulatory message, Senior Liaison Officer at the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC), Col (Rtd) Dr John Francis Ongia described Okee's appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his distinguished public service, professionalism and commitment to advancing government programmes.
“This appointment is a fitting recognition of your dedicated public service, professionalism, discipline and unwavering commitment to advancing government programmes,” Ongia said.
He noted that Okee’s years of leadership and service had earned him the trust and confidence required for the national assignment.
Ongia expressed confidence that Okee’s experience, communication skills and understanding of grassroots development would strengthen public engagement and improve communication about the work of Operation Wealth Creation.
He said the appointment comes at a time when communication is vital in supporting Uganda’s socio-economic transformation agenda.
Ongia also wished Okee wisdom, good health and success as he assumes the new role, expressing hope that his leadership would enhance public confidence, strengthen stakeholder engagement and contribute to the mission of improving the livelihoods of Ugandans through Operation Wealth Creation.
Okee brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served for many years as the Resident District Commissioner. Throughout his distinguished career, Okee has earned widespread recognition as a disciplined cadre, hardworking leader, and dedicated public servant.
Known for his hands-on approach, Okee has consistently championed government programs at the grassroots level, fostering strong community engagement and ensuring effective implementation of national policies.
