Fix your fertility issues with Dr Ssali at Bride & Groom Expo

Safina Namukwaya made headlines world over when she became a mother at 70. She delivered at the Women's Hospital International and Fertility Centre in Bukoto, giving hope to numerous women who thought motherhood was no longer possible.

For Kate Milly Nambasa, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) saved her from childlessness. “I had lost all hope of ever being a mother. I was 48 years old. I often watched my neighbours’ nine children make noise in their compound. I longed to have just one of my own,” Nambasa narrates. 

In 2024, Nambasa opted for IVF at the advice of someone who had conceived through the method at the Women’s Hospital International and Fertility Centre.

Nambasa is now a mother of twins.

Thousands of babies have been born under the care of Dr Ssali Tamale, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at the centre.

The founder of Uganda’s pioneer fertility centre, and his team, will grace the Bride & Groom Expo to speak to the audience about fertility issues. ‘Every woman deserves to be a mother. Come to the expo from June 26-28, 2026 and hear from the expert about IVF treatment.  

"I call upon all couples struggling with infertility to come to the expo, where my team and I will be happy to help you find a solution,” Dr Ssali said.

The specialist has, over the years, helped many couples who were having trouble having children the normal way. Little wonder some refer to him as the fertility doctor.

He has had numerous inspiring stories in his 21 years of experience in the fertility field, which he will share at the expo.

Owing to the expo’s theme, Beyond I do: A journey of love, home and family, Vision Group Marketing and Communication Manager Lorraine Tukahirwa said the expo caters to those about to get married, marrieds and all who aspire to get what the theme entails.

She said expert talks on important issues, such as fertility, will take place at the expo, giving expo attendees insights into the challenges they face in their lives.

According to Fiona Tamale, the Vision Group’s events manager, “Attendees can expect a more immersive and practical experience. We have curated exhibitors and sessions that speak to real-life needs—from financial planning and home ownership to parenting and relationship wellness—ensuring couples leave empowered for the journey ahead.”

Tamale’s words were a reaffirmation of Vision Group’s commitment to support families as they grow and thrive. So, for families struggling to get babies, the fertility session at the expo is a must-attend. They can seek the support they need from experts who have many success stories to share.

Yet all this knowledge and support is for only sh10,000, the entrance fee at the expo.

The expo will also have several service providers in the wedding industry, finance, homes and wellness, among others.

Alongside insightful information, the expo will also be a place to unwind with fun entertainment that will include fashion shows and artiste performances.
