Entebbe Vicariate raises sh174m during SAAFU launch

WAKISO - The special self-reliance fund of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, officially referred to as Ssabasumba Annual Appeal Fund (SAAFU) has received a big boost following the launching of the fundraising drive in Entebbe Vicariate.

During the function that took place at Kisubi Catholic Parish Church on Entebbe Road, in Wakiso district on Sunday (September 1, 2024), the Christians from the various ecclesial parishes (which comprise the vicariate) donated sh174m (one-hundred and seventy-four million) in cash and pledges.

The function was presided over by the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, the Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere, who praised the leaders of the laity in the vicariate and the archdiocese in general for their goodwill, commitment, support and active participation in the work of the Church.

The Episcopal Vicar of Entebbe vicariate, Fr Gerald Mpanju thanked the Catholic faithful (in the vicariate) for their generosity.

The function was also graced by the head of the Catholic Laity of Kampala Archdiocese, Lady Emily Kitto Mwaka and a good number of members of her executive.
