The convention at Uganda Martyrs Anglican Site, Namugongo, in Wakiso district, is slated for November 19-22, 2025.
The convention was announced by Church of Uganda Archbishop Dr Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu during a media conference at the Church of Uganda provincial headquarters at Namirembe, in Rubaga division on Wednesday, November 5 (2025).

“Our nation, and the whole world, is affected by several issues such as bloodshed and violence, pride and hypocrisy, and domestic violence in families. We are now in a period of elections ahead of 2026. As the Church, we emphasise peaceful elections, urging all stakeholders to work towards a free and fair electoral process. I encourage every candidate to respect the other. We should champion development ideas and foster peace, not violence and divisionism.”
“I am deeply concerned about the floods in Kampala that caused loss of people’s property. More so, the devastating landslides in Sebei, which caused the deaths of people and loss of property. The country has also registered several accidents, with the most recent major accident along the Kampala-Gulu Highway. There are also several boda boda accidents and other accidents, both known and unknown. The crime rate has gone high and Ugandans are worried. The recent violence in Kasese and Bundibugyo has also generated anxiety,” Kaziimba said.
Organising committee chairperson Evangelist Oscar Kagonyera said the three-day prayer convention will be free. Christians from upcountry will also have the privilege of accommodation. He encouraged diocesan secretaries to mobilise as many people as possible.
The provincial director of mission and outreach, the Rev. Can. Simon Peter Ddembe lya Yesu said the prayer convention is for all Christians and people of goodwill, not only Anglicans.
The Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Provincial Prayer Convention, Evangelist Oscar Kagonyera delivers his remarks.

The prayer convention, the third of its kind, will run under the theme: Arise: Pray for your Generation (Esther 4:13-14).
The Archbishop Emeritus, Henry Luke Orombi will be the main preacher.
