Easter Monday celebrations in Tororo were marked by infant baptisms in several churches across the district, including St Bruno Catholic Parish Agururu, Uganda Martyrs Cathedral Nyangole, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The day’s events highlighted the importance of baptism and its connection to Easter.
In a powerful sermon, Rev. Fr Stephen Mutisai, the parish priest of Agururu Catholic Parish in Tororo Archdiocese, who administered the sacrament of baptism to infants at St Bruno Catholic Church, emphasised the need to recognise Christ’s presence in life.

"For these precious infants, the journey to Emmaus began today, and through the waters of Baptism, their eyes have been opened, even before they can truly understand," he stated.
The community was urged to nurture the young initiates’ faith by engaging with the Word early, cultivating a listening heart, and sharing faith through actions, words, and daily life.
"Engage with the Word, starting early. Cultivate a listening heart and guide them to do the same. Share our faith through our actions, our words, and our lives," Fr Mutisai encouraged.

The Easter Monday celebrations served as a reminder of the transformative power of Christ’s resurrection and the importance of nurturing the faith of new Christians.
As the faithful dispersed, they were urged to surround the newly baptised with love and support, helping them grow in the grace of the Resurrection.
