Abba Marcus Mayanja, the 20-year-old son of Jose Chameleone, has been released from a Minnesota jail following his arrest on a domestic assault charge.

Records from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office show that Abba Marcus Mayanja was released at 12:31 pm local time on August 17, 2026, after spending three days in custody.

Court records indicate that he was granted a conditional release, although the specific conditions attached to his release were not publicly disclosed.

Before his release, the court had provided two options: a $6,000 bail or bond, equivalent to about Shs22.3 million, or release without payment subject to conditions.

Marcus Mayanja was released under the second option and did not pay cash for his release.

His release came on the same day he was scheduled to appear before court at Ridgedale at 9:30am.

Marcus was arrested over the weekend and charged with misdemeanour domestic assault, specifically an allegation involving an act intended to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death.

Although he is no longer in custody, the charge against him remains pending, and the case will continue through the court system.
