The Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has made a reshuffle in the military command.
The reforms are contained in a statement issued on Saturday (August 15) by Col Chris Magezi, the director of defence public information.
In the appointments and transfers, Maj. Gen. Joseph Ssemwanga has been transferred from Deputy Commander Land Forces and appointed the General Officer Commanding of the Reserve Forces.
Ssemwanga replaces Lt Gen. Charles Otema Awany, who is due for retirement next week.
According to the army statement, the 4th Infantry Division Commander, Maj. Gen. Felix Busizoori, has been appointed the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces.
The 3rd Infantry Division Commander, Maj. Gen. Wilberforce Sserunkuma, has been transferred to the 4th Infantry Division as commander.
The 1st Infantry Division Deputy Commander, Brig. Gen. Michael Hyeroba has been transferred to the 3rd Infantry Division Command.
“The transfers and appointments take immediate effect. We congratulate the general officers on the new appointments and wish them good luck in their duties,” said Magezi.
