CDF meets Commonwealth enterprise and investment council officials

The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, this afternoon (Dec. 6) held a meeting with officials from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) regarding the forthcoming Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit.

The meeting took place at the Special Forces Command Headquarters.



The two officials who met the CDF are: the Rt. Hon. Lord Swire KCMG, Deputy Chairman, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and AQ Hamza, Chief Commercial Officer, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and Group Director, International Trade Relations, Equity Group Holdings.




The two officials extended their gratitude to Gen. Kainerugaba for the audience and discussed the potential participation of Uganda's top leadership in the Summit, which is scheduled for April 2026 in London.

In his remarks, the CDF welcomed the delegates and thanked them for their visit and their interest in Uganda's engagement with the Commonwealth business community.

The annual Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit is a premier forum, bringing together the Commonwealth business community with heads of government and other senior leaders.

The 2026 Summit will feature plenary sessions, high-level roundtable discussions, and extensive networking opportunities, attracting many of the Commonwealth's most prominent figures.
