CDF Kainerugaba appoints Kajuba as new Armoured Division Commander

At the time of his appointment, Brig. Gen. Kajuba has been serving as the Deputy Commander in the same brigade of the UPDF Armoured Division.

The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Brigadier General Jackson Pande Kajuba as the new commander of the UPDF Armoured Division in Masaka, replacing the late Maj. Gen. Deus Sande, who died on Wednesday, February  11, after suffering severe breathing complications.

At the time of his appointment, Brig. Gen. Kajuba has been serving as the Deputy Commander in the same brigade of the UPDF Armoured Division.

Relatedly, the CDF, who is also a Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations (SPA/SO), also promoted Colonel Wilson Bagonza Rwakanara from the Special Forces Command (SFC) to the rank of Brigadier General, and appointed him to deputise Brig. Kajuba at the Kasajjagirwa-based Division in Masaka.

Kajuba joined the Armoured division in July 2025, taking over from Col Griffins Kantinti, who left the post to undertake a senior military course.

The appointments were announced earlier today (Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026) by acting Director Defence Public Information MODVA/UPDF, Col Chris Magezi.
