As the grand celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral gets closer, more Catholic individuals, ecclesial movements, associations and other people of goodwill have come out to support the preparation of the long-awaited function.
On Wednesday (October 15, 2025), the Archbishop of Kampala, Paul Ssemogerere, received cash donations from the consecrated religious men and women of various Catholic missionary institutes that work in the archdiocese.

Archbishop Ssemogerere hailed the consecrated religious and all the other donors for their generosity and commitment to the Church.
The Chairman of Lubaga Cathedral Centennial Organising Committee, Engineer Pius Mugalaasi, called for more cash donations to enable the organisers to meet the set target of sh2.4b, which is required to pull off the celebration and its monumental projects that include, among others, the proposed two-level parking yard.
He revealed that they still had a shortfall of about sh800m after collecting sh1.55bn from the donors during the past three months.
The grand celebration of the centenary of Lubaga Cathedral will take place at Lubaga Cathedral on October 26, 2025.
