FORT PORTAL - A delegation of Members of the Babiito royal clan from Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, headed by the head of the royal clan, Prince Okwiri Mugenyi Rucunya, have condoled with Tooro kingdom over the death of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukudi IV.
While addressing mourners at Karuziika royal palace on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), Rucunya called for unity among the people of Tooro during this grieving moment.
He appealed to the people of Tooro to avoid speculation on who should be the next king and urged them to respect culture. The delegation from Tooro also donated nine cows to the Kingdom to help in feeding mourners.
"We are here in Tooro to pay our tribute to Omukama Oyo and the entire Tooro Kingdom. It is a very difficult moment for the kingdom, and we appeal to the people to remain calm and avoid social media speculations," Rucunya said.
He said that Tooro and Bunyoro Kingdoms share a common history since Tooro broke away from Bunyoro.
