Residents of Kisaala village, Malongwe parish in Buikwe district are mourning the death of Stephen Ssekisawo.
Ssekisawo was recently elected district councillor representing Buikwe Sub-County at the district.
A family member only identified as David told New Vision, that the deceased started feeling unwell about three days ago and on Sunday he was taken to Kawolo Hospital for treatment.
“They carried out some samples before he was referred to Jinja hospital where the tests suggested suspected poisoning,” he said.
He was transferred to Mbale Regional hospital for further management but he died on the way.
The deceased has also been the chairperson of Kitega Football team.
He was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kisaala village, Buikwe district.
