"The convention is a revelation that God is visiting Uganda starting with the State House," he said, "Pentecostals, Anglicans and all other religions, especially those that believe in Christ, let us unite, we should not divide the body of Christ. Leave politics out of the church, which is the body of Christ."

The week-long convention running till May 24 kicked off on Monday (May 19) with the men's conference under the theme: "Fix men, fix the world".

The chief convener of the men's conference, Odrek Rwabwogo, commended his wife, First Daughter Patience Rwabwogo, for giving them the first day of Light Up Uganda to discuss issues of men.

The initiative, in its third year, aims to awaken the Church, unify believers and ignite a wave of revival that extends beyond Uganda’s borders.

The “Light Up Uganda for Jesus” mission is part of a broader initiative Pr Rwabwogo has championed to spiritually revive the nation and position Uganda as a beacon of hope for the African continent.

It is also expected to feature a diverse lineup of speakers from various denominations, including renowned evangelist Bishop Ladonna Osborne from the United States.

According to Patience, the conference aims to unite believers in prayer, worship and strategy to lead Uganda into a new era of spiritual and societal change.

She explained that her vision is rooted in a prophetic encounter in which she saw a small light emerging from Uganda and spreading across Africa.

“That light symbolises Uganda’s role in igniting a continental spiritual revival. But it starts with us, the Church, standing together as one,” she said.
