Bududa students block arrest of headteacher as Balaam team nets eight officials
Students demonstrated and surrounded the officials, demanding to know where they were taking their head teacher before pulling him away. This came after the minister had ordered for the arrest of the head teacher for allegedly charging parents sh150,000 fees in a government school where everything is funded by the Government.

BUDUDA - Drama unfolded at Bududa Senior Secondary School on Thursday after students pulled their head teacher, Nasibu Mutyaba, from the hands of detectives who had arrested him on the orders of local government minister Balaam Barugahara.
The minister had ordered for the arrest of the headteacher for allegedly charging parents sh150,000 fees in a government school where everything is funded by the Government.
Students demonstrated and surrounded the officials, demanding to know where they were taking their head teacher before pulling him away.
Barugahara is in Bududa as part of his campaign to expose corruption and mismanagement in the district.
Eight Bududa district officials were arrested during the minister's tour. They include David Muwoya Wekhoola, the acting district education officer; Beatrice Wakooli, the district community development officer; Hashim Wafula, the district commercial officer; Grace Nabutasale, the district internal auditor; and Naume Muganwa, the district inspector of schools.
Also arrested was Solome Juliet Namara, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Bududa, plus her two assistants, Bernard Madoi and Hassan Mangobe.
Barugahara is in Bududa as part of his campaign to expose corruption and mismanagement in the district.

Namara was arrested after a resident accused her of extorting sh1m from her during the recent army recruitment.
The victim said despite bribing the RDC sh1m to be recruited into the army, she was left out.
During a rally at Bududa Booma Grounds on Thursday, Minister Barugahara ordered the RDC to refund the victim’s money before she was arrested.
The minister proceeded to neighbouring Manafwa district for a similar operation on Friday.
