Speaking to journalists, Besigye said it is the responsibility of all Ugandans to work towards causing positive change in Uganda so that all Ugandans may have joyful celebrations. He said many people didn't celebrate Christmas because they lacked what to use in the celebrations.

In her message, Winnie Byanyima wished all Ugandans peace but challenged the country to get back to democracy and fight all forms of human rights violations.

At Nyamitanga Cathedral, the service was led by Mbarara Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha. The service was attended by Christians from different parts of the archdiocese

Archbishop preached the gospel of love and all Christians to pick good lessons from the birth of Jesus Christ and be good believers regardless of their age and status.
