The chairperson of the Youth Council in Arua district, Robert Eyotia, has called for an improved budget to support the activities of young people in the district.

Speaking during belated International Youth Day celebrations at Logiri sub-county on Friday, September 6, 2025, Eyotia noted with concern that decision makers in the district have not paid keen attention to the demands of the young people by allocating sufficient resources for them.

The acting Arua District Community Development Officer, Babra Ofutaru, acknowledges the challenges of low budgeting for youth activities, but encouraged the youth to be creative and innovative to overcome their challenges.

Meanwhile, the Secretary for human capital development in Arua district, Luiji Candini, said internal gaps exist between the Youth Council and their representatives in the district Council.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Arua, Denis Jawoko, says the government is funding several projects and programs which the youth should take advantage of to improve their lives.

The Woman MP, Arua Lilian Paparu Obiale, called upon the youth and other stakeholders to focus on project sustainability.

The youth days celebrations were marked under the theme: Youth Advancing Socio-economic Change Through Technology and Partnership.
