ARUA - The territorial police of Arua City Central Business Division have detained seven youth during intelligence-led disruptive operations conducted in the city centre on June 3, 2026.

The police jointly conducted the operation with the local leaders in the central division following reports of increased crime.

The police spokesperson for the West Nile region, Josephine Angucia, says that suspects have been robbing residents of valuable items, including mobile phones, laptops, bags, money and others.

She says upon their arrest, a bag containing marijuana, rolled sticks of marijuana, and suspected house-breaking appliances were recovered and exhibited at Arua City Central Police Station.

Angucia urges community members in urban settings to engage in more productive, legal income-generating activities rather than indulging in criminal behaviours.
