The Archbishop of Kampala, Paul Ssemogerere, has asked fathers to always join mothers when the time for visiting children at school comes.

“Very few fathers (daddies) visit or attend their children’s school visitation,” he wondered.

He said that men end up only paying school fees and leave other responsibilities to the mothers.

The prelate said this while preaching during Mass at Kitende Modern Primary School in Wakiso district on Thursday.

In mass, he confirmed 82 pupils into Catholic Church in the prayers where primary seven candidates were blessed.

He was assisted by the Parish Priest of St Padre Pio Catholic parish Kabulamuliro, Fr Remigius Kasibante, and Fr Michael Muhasa, the Shrine Rector of Padre-Pio.

He reminded the fathers of their responsibilities.

Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments. It is also one of the three sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church, the other two being Baptism and Holy Communion.

“We are confident as a Church that the directors of the schools still promote faith, we continue praying for you.”

He added that “as Archbishop I am happy to see young people with faith. I thank the school management.”
