Anti-Corruption Court to move to Nakasero

In an interview with New Vision Online on August 24, 2023, Bigirimana said the Judiciary has identified another building where the court will relocate effective October 1, 2023.
“The Anti-Corruption Court is reallocating to Plot 5 Lourdel Road, in Nakasero where the Supreme Court is currently housed. It is more conducive and up to the standards,” Bigirimana said.

KAMPALA - The Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo, Kampala is scheduled to relocate to Nakasero, Judiciary permanent secretary Pius Bigirimana has said.
In an interview with New Vision Online on August 24, 2023, Bigirimana said the Judiciary has identified another building where the court will relocate effective October 1, 2023.
“The Anti-Corruption Court is reallocating to Plot 5 Lourdel Road, in Nakasero where the Supreme Court is currently housed. It is more conducive and up to the standards,” Bigirimana said.
Also, he added that the Supreme Court would relocate to a new building, which was constructed by the Judiciary on Plot 2. The Supreme Court building shares the same premises with the High Court.
The Anti-Corruption Court has been operating in Kololo since 2008 when it was established
Why the court was established
The Anti-Corruption Court was established by the Judiciary in response to demands by the Government and other institutions engaged in fighting corruption, to take drastic action against corruption by strengthening the mechanism for fighting corruption.
The court has Division of the High Court and it is composed of Magistrate’s Court. The High Court is headed by Justice Lawrence Gidudu and assisted by Justice Margaret Tibulya and Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga.
The Chief Magistrate Court is headed by Joan Aciro and assisted by three magistrates.
