All set for installation of new Archbishop of Gulu

GULU - All is set for the installation of the 2nd Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese, the Most Rev. Raphael P’Mony Wokorach.

The central organizing committee headed by Fr Samuel Norbert Ocayamoi plans to welcome Wokorach from Pakwach Bridge in a big procession and escort him to the Archbishop's residence on Thursday, the eve of the ceremony.

According to Ocayamoi, the Archbishop shall be accompanied by about 500 people including his family members, priests, and other catholic faithful from Nebbi Catholic Diocese to Gulu City for the installation ceremony.

Wokorach is expected to plant trees in Tangi village, Got Apwoyo sub-county in Nwoya district before blessing Christians of Anaka and Koch Goma catholic parishes, respectively.

Gulu Archdiocese faithful led by his predecessor His Grace Dr. John Baptist Odama shall welcome Wokorach from Customs Corner in Gulu City in a procession and lead him to the Archdiocese headquarters in Forgod Cell, in Bardege –Layibi Division.

The Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda Most Rev. Luigi Bianco is also expected to be present.
Meanwhile, installation mass shall start on Friday at 9:30 am where the new Archbishop shall enter the cathedral and take over headship of the Archdiocese in a ceremony to be précised by the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Luigi Bianco.
