Adjumani West by-election: Museveni campaigns for NRM candidate, visits Moses Ali grave

President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday (September 15) campaigned for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate ahead of the Adjumani West parliamentary by-election.
Museveni rallied the people of Adjumani West to vote for the NRM party flagbearer, James Pili Leku, ahead of the by-election slated for September 17.

The President first visited the grave of former Member of Parliament for Adjumani West constituency, the late Gen. (rtd) Moses Ali, and laid a wreath ahead of his campaign rally at Paridi Stadium.
The race for the seat now has two candidates left: Leku of NRM and Gasper Draga, an independent candidate.
The race to replace Gen. Ali, who passed away on July 18 at Nakasero Hospital, had at first attracted 10 aspirants.
However, the eight other aspirants have since opted out of the race for different reasons.
