30 youth fail UPDF recruitment test in Hoima

30 applicants were not successful due to different reasons, including medical problems, forgery of papers and lack of original documents.

A total of 30 youth from Hoima District and Hoima City failed to qualify for the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) recruitment exercise after they did not meet the set requirements.

However, 81 applicants successfully qualified for the UPDF recruitment. Speaking to New Vision Online on Friday, August 14, Lt Ismail Sekikubo, the spokesperson of the UPDF recruitment group 5, which is charged with Midwestern Uganda, said that they kicked off the recruitment for Hoima district and Hoima city on Thursday morning at Hoima district headquarters in Kasingo, and the exercise was concluded in the evening at around 8pm.

He noted that during the exercise, 30 youths, including 8 professionals and 22 regulars, were recruited from Hoima city, while 40 regulars and 11 professionals were successfully recruited from Hoima district.

Sekikubo added that over 30 applicants were not successful due to different reasons, including medical problems, forgery of papers and lack of original documents.

He noted that those who failed to go through included one lady who was pregnant, while others had forged papers or failed to present original certificates of their papers.

Brig. Gen. Rodgers Kitwala, the team leader for UPDF recruitment group 5, said the exercise is moving on as expected.

He noted that they have completed recruitment in Masindi, Kiryandongo, Hoima and Buliisa districts and they are now heading to Kikuube and Kagadi districts.
