Why are Ugandans not using condoms?

The Government has procured 250 million flavoured condoms for the 2025/2026 financial year. They will be available in apple, strawberry, vanilla, and grape flavours, following complaints that previous brands smelled unpleasant. Production is underway, with 120 million expected by January. 

A buffer procured condom stock will cover the festive season, supported funding from the United Nations Population Fund to distribute condoms in hotspots that include landing sites, hotels, lodges, guest houses, brothels, and bars.
