Retirement age for senior medics raised to 70
The extended stay of retired health workers targets those working on patients (clinical specialists) and not those in management positions such as commissioners at the health ministry.
Besides retirement, Ketty Lamaro, the Health Service Commission Secretary, explained that a special standing order for the health sector is intended to address other challenges such as time spent on duty for medical workers.
