'No cause for anxiety' as Kabaka flies out for 'routine health check'

The King of Buganda (Kabaka), Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, is out of the country for further medical attention in Europe.
He departed Thursday evening and was seen off by the kingdom's Prime Minister (Katikkiro), Charles Peter Mayiga, and other officials, including his son, Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa.
Mayiga assured the king's subjects and Ugandans at large that there is no cause for anxiety over Mutebi's latest medical trip.
"He has flown out for a routine health check for medical experts to examine him on his progress. He will be back shortly," said Mayiga shortly after the Kabaka's departure.

“And for us in the kingdom, his health is our priority, so there is no cause for anxiety. We felt that we should let you know that he has travelled out of the country for that reason."
Initially, the monarchy did not officially communicate his trip to the public, which caused mounting anxiety and speculation among Ugandans over the Buganda king's absence and state of health.
Amid growing public concern, the kingdom later came out to reveal that the Kabaka was in Namibia for specialized medical treatment as recommended by his doctors in Germany.
Three months later, he returned home on July 22, much to his subjects' relief.
Mayiga said the king has since been making "steady recovery" and is "on the mend".
He also said the medical teams here in Uganda work closely with medical teams abroad to manage Mutebi's recovery programme.
