Floating islands cut off health services

“The floating islands blocked our way several times, yet my labour pains were intensifying. At one point, he left me in the boat to push away a section of the floating island so that we could sail through. I was terrified of the water and in great pain, but I had no choice,” Kampi recalls. 

Florence Zawedde, the immunisation focal person in Mityana district, explains that floating islands often block the way for both patients and health workers.
